The KKK

Hi all

I was recently going through a page of American History when I struck on the topic of the "Klu Klux Klan" or "The Klan". It reminded me of the KKK or the same Klu Klux Klan who were the main antagonists in the Sherlock Holmes case "the five orange pips". I decided to throw some light on the matter.

I hope you all know that there was a civil war in USA between the blacks and the whites. The Blacks, or the so called Negroes, were used as slaves and badly ill-treated. The local whites started feeling that their introduction would plague their supposedly pure species so started protesting at large

scale. Thousands joined the movement. All these members were considered as the first KKK.

After their depression, the Blacks started demanding their rights to equality. Things started to get a bit violent as the second new Klan attempted to remove them. Many were killed in bomb blasts and gun crossfires.

But The third Klan has remained the m

ost terrifying of all. They were known as the democrats and fought violently with the Republicans who fought for the blacks' rights. They adopted horrifying methods, they usually attacked the republicans at night in large groups. They were clad neck to foot with white robes and wore pointy hats (also white) that covered their faces completely except the eyes (they had peepholes in them). They carried burning crosses with them. Their very figure was considered demonic.

The Klan were a very frightening group that has yet not been exterminated. There are still cases of KKK initiations (rituals for new recruits), murders and lynching (murder without a trial). They are wide spread in the tornado alley area, especially in Oklahoma.

It shows that man can go to any limit for his needs. The whites still hate the blacks (not all of them), and racial abuse is still common.

Can't we do anything to improve our condition?
